cable joining

Here is Cable joint making is an assembly of two or more wires, used for electrical power or data circuits.

CABLE JOINT MAKING

In every electrical wiring installation, there is bound  to be cable joints. note: joint are created when a cable is joined to another one.

The primary aim is always to increase the length of a cable. Or for the purpose of diving current By part’s. Whatever the reason or aim may be, the important thing is that there are  different types of cable joining and there are sequential order to follow while making them.

For the cost of this training, the skills entrepreneur program is designed to direct students on how to make some of these joints.

In this entrepreneurship program, we will based on Four types of cable-joint-making. And they are:

  1. 1.T-joint
  2. Straight – joint
  3. 3.Rat Tail-joint
  4. Married straight -joint

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR CABLE JOINT MAKING

  1. Plier (flat nose)
  2. Sand paper
  3. Tap
  4. Solder(lead)
  5. Soldering iron
  6. Insulated combination Plier
  7. Side cutter
  8. Electrician knife
  9. Wooden foot rule
  10. P. V. C cable 1.5mm^2 2-pieces,40cm each
  11. P. V. C cable 6mm^2 three stranded 2-pieces,15cm each

CONSTRUCTION METHOD OF CABLE-JOINT-MAKING

MAKING T-JOINT

  1. 1.Take two pieces of PVC cable, 40cm each.
  2. Remove installation about 3.5cm from the center of one cable
  3. Clean the naked portion of the cable with sand paper or cotton waste, if necessary
  4. Keep firm the grip of these pieces of cable in T-shape
  5. Wrap the Piece of 6.5m conductor over the other conductor .
  6. Round off the end of the conductor with flat nose plier.
  7. Then solder the terminal of The surface Being join.
  8. Then cello-tap Where necessary.

MAKING MARRIED STRAIGHT JOINT

  1. Take two pieces of cable 16mm three stranded each, about 15cm.
  2. Remove installation about 10cm from the center of the cable each.
  3. Clean the naked portion of the cable with sand paper and separate the strands.
  4. Retwist the strands about 3cm and keep the other portion of the strands i.e 7cm of the strands opened and place the two pieces of cable entering into each other.
  5. Wrap left-hand conductors over the right hand side naked straight conductor in a clockwise direction. and then do the same in the right hand but in opposite direction (anticlockwise).
  6. Round off the ends of the conductors in the form of a circle with flat nose plier.
  7. Apply solder and cello tap where necessary.

MAKING  A STRAIGHT JOINT

  1. Take two pieces of PVC cable, 30cm each
  2. Remove insulation about 8cm from one side of each cable (length).
  3. Clean the naked portion of the cable with sand paper.
  4. Bend the pieces of the conductors at right angle, at a distance of 2.5cm from the insulation.
  5. Wrap one piece  of conductor on the other and repeat the same operation on the other side of conductor with equal number strands or turn on both side.
  6. Round off the ends of the conductor with flat nose plier .
  7. Solider and cello tap where necessary.

MAKING A RAT TAIL JOINT

  1. Take two pieces of PVC cable 30cm each.
  2. Remove 3cm each from one end of the cable.
  3. Clean the naked portion of the cable with sand paper.
  4. Keep the two cables with their insulation parallel to each other.
  5. Cross the conductors, leaving 1cm from the insulation.
  6. Grip both conductors and twist them over each other about 2.5cm.
  7. Round off the ends of the joint for connecting in the accessory.
  8.  Apply solider and cello-tap where necessary

CONCLUSION

Cable joining makes ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS transmission easier, because it’s helps to interconnect two or more cables together and also at the cost of this training students will know the types and how to make cable joining.
